How to wear and remove face masks correctly?

First of all, before wearing a mask, wash your hands with water and soap or an alcohol-based sanitizer. Check if the mask is in good condition i.e. if it doesn't have holes or tears. Take a close look where is the top and the front part of the mask. The mask may be equipped with ear loops, headbands or ties.

  1.  Mask with ear loops: after making sure where is the top and front part of the mask, catch the ear loops with both hands and attach them behind your ears.

  2. Mask with bands: hold the mask with one hand in front of your face, at the nose level. Catch the top band and place it at the crown of your head. Catch the bottom band and place it at the nape of your neck.

  3. Mask with ties: catch the top ties with both hands and attach them with a bow at the top of your head. Next, catch the bottom ties and tie them at the nape of your neck.

Adjust the mask to your face shape by banding the aluminum insert at the nose level. Finally, cover your mouth and chin. You are ready to go!

To remove the mask correctly, wash your hands with water and soap or an alcohol-based sanitizer. Do not touch the front of the mask with your hands, as it may be contaminated. Again, depending on the mask remove it using:

  1. Ear loops: catch both ear loops at the same time with both hands and remove the mask.
  2. Headbands: take off the bottom band first, then remove the bottom band.
  3. Ties: first, untie the bottom ties and then the top ones.

Throw away your mask if it is a disposable one. Wash according to the washing instructions if it is a reusable and washable mask. Before the next use, make sure the mask is completely dry and in good condition.
